OA Kenya Working the Path of LENT

Olivet Assembly of Kenya started the Lent Period on Feb 14th, Wednesday. The leaders discussed on how they will go this period of LENT and set up plan and goal.

First, they will meditate the Word about the Cross, from various places in the Bible. Because the Cross of Jesus Christ is the main message of the gospel of Christianity. But when we do not understand the meaning of the Cross deeply, our life of faith can be conceptual and shallow.

So through this period, churches in Kenya will meditate the way of the cross of Jesus Christ deeply to understand and follow, so that they can later understand the message of the new life that Jesus was bringing through resurrection on the third day(Easter day).

Second, they set up the plan to share the love of Jesus more actively with the neighbors and various people through different activities. As the love is not the love when it's only with mouth or thinking, the members are encouraged to live with the love of Jesus Christ in their lives and approach the people with the heart of God.

Third, they will invite people to churches more actively. They set up goals to invite 70 new people during this time. As God is waiting for the lost people and working for the salvation continually, members are encouraged to evangelize 'in season or out of season', every day.

Though God showed His full love through Jesus Christ then and even now, the world is still dark away from God. So this LENT period may be the time for the Christians to go deeper in the love of God through Jesus Christ, shine this love to the world giving the true hope to the people.
